One day a player asked his coach: “What is going wrong with my game?”

“You’re standing too close to the ball after you’ve hit it.”

Well, the summer is drawing to a close and Autumn is fast approaching. After a rather shaky start to the year with all the leather jacket activity, we have had a great summer of golf at Nizels so far and hopefully, the weather will be kind and give us plenty more this Autumn/Winter. We have recovered very quickly after our renovations that took place the first week of August where we used a 19mm holo core to remove thatch and compaction this was followed by a deep (22mm) scarification to remove more thatch and create some lines for us to drop in approx 3kg of pure bent seed per green all followed up with 75 tonnes of sand topdressing, this was a very large and aggressive procedure and I am very pleased with how well the greens have recovered and I feel that they are playing as good now maybe even better than we have seen them all year.

I would like to congratulate Leigh and Pat on there fantastic year as Captains and wish the best of luck to Kevin and Janette for there next 12 months.
