Yoga Benefits

Friday 21st June was International Yoga Day, and at Nizels we celebrated it with a two hour Yoga workshop. Jess, just one of our excellent Yoga instructors, ran the very well attended session and Marcel Mendez was on hand to provide live soothing music throughout.

The workshop started with a talk about the benefits of Yoga and what it can do to help you both physically and mentally. Not only can it help lower blood pressure and reduce insomnia, other physical benefits include increased flexibility, increased muscle strength and tone. All of these benefits lend themselves to improved performance in many other sports and every day activities.

Yoga is helpful in reducing anxiety, anger and fatigue and can bring about a state of calm.

At any level of Yoga, you’ll probably start to notice benefits soon. In one study, people improved their flexibility by up to 35% after only 8 weeks of Yoga.
