Paul’s Course Update

I would like to start by hoping the everyone had a great festive season and I would like to wish one and all a very 2019.

The winter has so far been very kind to us here at Nizels and at the time of writing this we have been able to get a full cut of the golf course completed and if I say so myself we are in very good condition for the time of year. The electric trolley ban has been lifted after only being in place for a short period of time and hopefully ground conditions will remain good to keep trolley’s on for the foreseeable future, fingers crossed.

We have finished re turfing the front of the clubhouse and can now concentrate all of our efforts to completing our Tee projects. The 6th Red Tee is the first of many to be finished and is looking so much better than it has done for a very long time. we will be preparing the rest of the Tee’s ready for a delivery of turf on January 29th.

As well as the Tee projects we have identified several old drain lines that are now in need of levelling and re turfing, this job will be ongoing over the next few weeks.

We have had a new member of the Greenkeeping team start on January 7th, his name is Jack he is 24 and has joined us form a local garden centre where over the last couple of years he has gained qualifications in horticulture and fisheries and I am sure he will become and valued member for the team, so if you see him around the course please feel free to say hello.
